With the Doomtree crew album showcasing exactly what the Minnesotan crew are all about, Mictlan kicks the driver of the run away train out of the cabin and puts a brick on the accelerator.

Naledge (of Kidz In The Hall)-Welcome To Brainiac Society(2008)
“Welcome To Brainiac Society is a compilation or collection of music that I like, and that I might have made or contributed to. There’s no real rhyme or reason to it. I think a lot of people got confused when I started repping Brainiac Society as my crew or my label cause I think a lot of people took it as a separation from Kidz In The Hall, which is not what it is. It’s just me giving a platform to people that I like, and I want it to be looked at moreso as a Native Tongues type of thing than as a Bad Boy type of thing. It’s just a group of people that make dope music and appreciate the artistry of Hip Hop and doesn’t have to necessarily mean they are rappers. They can sing, they can make beats, DJ, whatever. It’s about the creative renaissance that’s going on within Hip Hop all over the nation. These are people that I met in my travels who I feel are dope and they inspire me. We just get together and we collectively make art…It’s also a platform for me to put out Fooch who is my artist. It’s no departure from Kidz In The Hall. Me and Double O are such creative beings in general, that we don’t know how to operate without 30 things going on at once. We’re very much multi-taskers and we’ve always been that way. We try to have our hands in everything.
RTC mixed it, it’s got new freestyles, some exclusive stuff, some stuff that’s been leaked on the internet, stuff that you might have forgot existed or never had or never downloaded on a a CD. My hope with this is that people will download it, burn it to a CD, and just play it, or add it as a playlist to their ipod. That’s really what it is, just a dope mix, a dope collection of music. Talented individuals on all fronts, and I’m really excited about it.”

Dr. Dooom (aka Kool Keith) - Dr. Dooom 2 (2008)
After single-handedly redefining “warped” as the mind and mouth behind the Bronx-based Ultramagnetic MC’s, “Kool” Keith Thornton, aka Rhythm X, aka Dr. Octagon, aka Dr. Dooom, headed for the outer reaches of the stratosphere with a variety of solo projects. A onetime psychiatric patient at Bellevue, Keith’s lyrical thematics remained as free-flowing here as they ever were with the N.Y. trio, connecting up complex meters with fierce, layers-deep metaphors and veiled criticisms of those who “water down the sound that comes from the ghetto.”
2008 will see the return of Dr Dooom, produced by KutMasta Kurt. This album will be huge! One of the more underrated producers and DJs in the West Coast underground, KutMasta Kurt initially made his name working with Kool Keith, during which time he first donned his trademark Mexican wrestling mask. Kurt began DJing in the Bay Area. As his reputation grew, local MCs began to approach him about producing tracks. Kurt bought some basic studio equipment and taught himself to use it. After a few remixes for the likes of Tim Dog, Buju Banton and Mic Geronimo, Kurt’s friendship with the groundbreaking, underappreciated Ultramagnetic MC’s paid off when, in 1994, ex-leader Kool Keith tapped Kurt to handle DJ and production duties for his new solo career. Kurt produced a couple of tracks on Keith’s landmark Dr. Octagon album, but their first full project together was 1997’s “Sex Style”, the first album released under Keith’s own name. Kurt also helmed Keith’s album as Dr. Dooom, 1999’s “First Come, First Served”, and 2000’s “Matthew”.
By the time “Matthew” was released, Kurt had begun to build his own career apart from Keith. He provided remixes for the likes of the Beastie Boys, Planet Asia, Rasco, Luscious Jackson and Blackalicious, among others. He also formed his own label, Threshold, and in 2000 released the full-length album “KutMasta Kurt Presents: Masters of Illusion”, a collaborative project that featured Kool Keith and underground MC Motion Man.
Skip ahead to 2008 and the Dr. Dooom comeback. The album is titled “Dr. Dooom 2″ and it’s the type of release that everybody will be talking about.

Hell Razah - Ultra Sounds Of A Renaissance Child (2008)
Ultra Sounds of a Renaissance Child is the first proper solo project by former Sunz Of Man member Hell Razah in almost two years. Considered one of the most productive and well-regarded emcees to emerge from the extended Wu-Tang Clan family, Hell Razah began his career as part of Sunz Of Man which consisted of Prodigal Sunn, 60 Second Assassin, Shabazz the Disciple and Killah Priest. After 3 successful albums, the group went their separate ways in 2002. Since then, Hell Razah’s string of solo records along with releases with Black Market Militia (Nature Sounds), T.H.U.G. Angels and Blue Sky Black Death (Babygrande) have firmly established his post-Wu following. On Ultra Sounds of a Renaissance Child, the apocalyptic imagery and conspiracy subject matter melds well with the gestation/birth theme. The album fits well alongside releases by Killah Priest and Jedi Mind Tricks. Production from 4th Disciple (Killarmy, Wu-Tang Clan), Shroomz, Godz Wrath, Ibo Sounds, and DJ Rated R makes Ultra Sounds of a Renaissance child a must have for any fan of the Wu.

Longtime Wu-Tang affilate Killah Priest along with Army of The Pharaohs core member Chief Kamachi have teamed up to release a full length collabo album entitled “Beautiful Minds” on Good Hands Records. Both rappers are considered two of the top poetry writing MC’s in the game, and by joining forces Priest and Kamachi plan to deliver an album that fans of lyricism will love. “Kamachi and I are alike in a lot of ways, and this album is going to turn a lot of heads,” says Priest. Kamachi responds with “Working with Priest was like going to the studio with myself. It was second nature working with him. It all just came so naturally.” The album features only one track with guest appearances, a rarity these days. West coast mainstays Planet Asia and DJ Rhettmatic lend a hand on the track “Illest”. Production on “Beautiful Minds” is handled by Tekneek (Kurupt, Tha Dogg Pound), E. Dan (Reef The Lost Cauze, Kamachi, Wiz Khalifa), C Sik (Dilated Peoples, Strong Arm Steady), Dev Rocka, Diamond Legit, Emonex and more. After Killah Priest’s recent success with albums “The Offering” and “Behind the Stained Glass” combined with the success of the latest Army of The Pharaohs album called “Ritual Of Battle” from 2007, which scanned well over 20k, this release is destined to be on every top ten independant Hip Hop list for 2008.
