We go geographic this time with tracks titled like Northwood, Puget Sound (Seattle bay), Aberdeen or Birchwood:) After leaving Grand Central, Andrew Tuner is still providing good music, peep his next one he is working on this year. Sit back, countdown and lift-off!

Wayna is an attractive vocalist from Maryland, US who has already proved her skills on various albums as a feature artist. Sorrunded by Kev Brown, Roddy Rod and the whole DC based Low Budget Crew we can admit she didn't have a hard job to come up with a fine solo album. Peace to spher!

Cy Young - Exactly (2007)

01 Intro (this is for...)
02 I Got Chu (prod. by Kaimbr)
03 All We Got (feat. and prod. by Kev Brown)
04 Whatever U Like (prod. by Kev Brown)
05 Down 2 Do It (clap) (prod. by Dj Roddy Rod)
06 Good times (prod. by Kev Brown)
07 Keep Doin It (prod. by Krhysis)
08 Power Cars (Drive By) (prod. by Kev Brown)
09 Gonna Make A Way (feat. Wayna)
10 Feel It (prod. by Kev Brown)
11 Better (feat. Kev Brown & Bilal Salaam)

Cy Young first of all is not the great major league baseball player Cy Young (whom the award is named after). Apparently Cy Young used to be a pro basketball player, then after moving from Queens, NYC through North Carolina to Washington DC he was quickly spotted by Jazzy Jeff due to his rhyming skills. They started to work together when other pro artists in the region (Low Budget Crew) came to the picture, such as Kev Brown, Oddisee, Kenn Starr, Roddy Rod from Maspyke or the talented vocalist Wayna. His solo album is a proof of great lyrical skills and very dope beats from the finest producing workshops.

This is Esoteric's first official instrumental opus. These are NOT beats used on other albums and lazily rounded up for a quick release to exploit fans, but rather all original production that takes the listener through a sound track that could have escaped from the Jack Kirby sketched pages of a silver age comic...hence the title and cover artwork...so once again, sit back, relax, and enjoy as Serve Or Suffer showcases Esoteric as one of the most prolific and revered producers/artists in the genre today.

Over the summer we mourned the tragic loss of Formula Abstract member Moderfire, who was part of the local San Diego group alongside friend and co-emcee Trust One. Benefits were held and money was raised for the family, and all plans moved forward for the release of Audio Autopsy, the follow up to last year's self-titled EP. Thankfully through their music, Moder's name will live on as there are hours of previously recorded material with Volume 2 scheduled for release some time next year. This is real, raw, tried and true hip hop coming out of our city and it's only the beginning. And hopefully people will come to realize that there is a scene brewing out here, and waiting to be uncovered and recognized by the hip hop community outside of our local realms. Features Orko, Eternal, Rinasanz, Bazerkowitz, Mr. Ridley, Golden Gages and more! Rest in power, Miguel Leon Fregoso, you will be missed.
