Beastie Boys - Lee Majors Come Again 7 Inch (2009)
01 Lee Majors Come Again
02 B Boys In The Cut (A Cappella)
Listen: Beastie Boys - "Lee Majors Come Again"
Link
A number of fans who ordered the Check Your Head collector's vinyl set have discovered a surprise bonus 7-inch record containing two NEW, unreleased songs in the set. The bonus album has not been found in every copy of the collector's set.
The first track, titled "Lee Majors Come Again," is rap over hardcore instrumentation.
The second track, titled "B Boys in the Cut," is an a cappella. Beastie heads will recognize the end of the track as the "My New Name Is Larry" routine that the Beastie Boys have been throwing into their live show for the last few years.
For the record, both songs are NEW. The lyrics give away that they're current works.

Diplo - Decent Work For Decent Pay : Selected Works Vol.1 (2009)
When Wes Pentz released his debut album, "Florida," on Big Dada in the autumn of 2004, he was a relatively obscure DJ and producer from Philadelphia. Through the success of his club night, Hollertronix, production, tireless unearthing of new dance trends from around the world (in particular, Brazil), the inception of his own label Mad Decent and his never less than brilliant DJ sets, Diplo is now a force in music culture across the planet.
As a result, he's become a go-to name for production and remix work for some of the most exciting acts around. "Decent Work For Decent Pay" provides an overview of what Diplo has been up to for the last four years, starting with classic tracks and out-takes from "Florida," taking in production work on such huge records as M.I.A's "Paper Planes," Kano's "Reload It" and Bonde Do Role's first album for Domino, plus a host of remixes for the likes of CSS, Spank Rock, Bloc Party, Hot Chip, Black Lips and Peter, Bjorn & John.

David Lynch, Iggy Pop, Gruff Rhys, members of the Strokes, the Shins, the Flaming Lips and Pixies will contribute to the next album by Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse.
Mark Linkous, the American singer-songwriter who mutters and murmurs as Sparklehorse, was last heard in 2006, on an album produced by Danger Mouse. And though neither Linkous nor Danger Mouse have announced it on their websites, their MySpace pages, in press releases or tweets, they seem to have made something new. And it sounds … well it sounds mysterious.
Earlier this week, several journalists and bloggers received a poster in the mail: “Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse present … DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL”. And then there’s the word “Featuring” and a whole lot of names.
Take a deep breath: Black Francis aka Pixies’ Frank Black, the Strokes’ Julian Casablancas, Vic Chesnutt, the Flaming Lips, Grandaddy’s Jason Lytle, the Shins’ James Mercer, the Cardigans’ Nina Persson, Iggy Pop, Super Furry Animals’ Gruff Rhys, and Suzanne Vega.
Oh yes, and “Visuals by David Lynch”.
The poster promises an album in summer 2009 and that’s all we know; a mystery wrapped in an enigma wrapped in an international advertising campaign.
Certainly both Sparklehorse and Danger Mouse are well connected. On 2006’s Dreamt for Light Years in the Belly of a Mountain, there were contributions from both Tom Waits and the Flaming Lips’ Steven Drozd. And since breaking through with The Grey Album, Danger Mouse has worked with everyone from Beck to Gnarls Barkley and Gorillaz.
Of course, it’s one thing to have Julian Casablancas drawl a few lyrics, and another to have one of the world’s eeriest film auteurs collaborate with visuals. David Lynch has rarely worked with any musicians besides composer Angelo Badalamenti, and although it’s still unclear what he’s done for Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse, from designing album artwork to shooting a film, he’s not exactly known for gallivanting with indie mumblers.
Then again, perhaps Dark Night of the Soul isn’t just an album. Perhaps it’s a hotel on a mysterious road that only appears on Friday the 13th, with a casino room where your subconscious mind plays roulette against Iggy Pop and members of the Shins and .. well all right, it’s probably just an album.

This one features Rob Swift running through funk breaks X-Ecutioners' style! For those of you who like the heavy turntablism influence in their breaks mixes then this one is right on track with that. Rob is always technically sound and the songs flow really well together. The beats are not all that unfamiliar for fans of this genre but sometimes familiarity is cool when it's cut up real nice. You'll also hear a track featuring a bit of an interview/ promo about the "Sound Event" CD and also a quick set from Rob in the studio in that same track. Otherwise, you're looking at breaks, a bit of hip-hop classics and plenty of turntablism.

Speech Debelle - Speech Therapy (2009)
There's a reason that Speech Debelle's debut album is called "Speech
Therapy" and that's because she speaks straight from the heart, with
complete intimacy, as if only addressing one person. As if she expects
the record never to be heard.
Perhaps in some way, that's not an unreasonable assumption. The 25 year
old South Londoner has been through the mill both before and since she
started working on this set of recordings. The oldest song on here is
called "Finish This Album". It was the tune she first played when she
visited Big Dada almost five years ago. Its theme is that she has to
hold it together, look after herself and try to get the record done, as
if the act of finishing will somehow liberate her from the problems in
her life. It's both intimate and epic, moving back and forth between
the personal and political, the mundane and the spiritual. It's a
journey acoss London and a journey across her life thus far. Speech is
both young and old beyond her years. At the age of twenty five her
fragile voice can make her sound like a teenager, but she's packed in
enough experience to last most people forever.
