Wordsmith-Twilight of my Arrival
Wordsmith-Twilight of my Arrival
Link
Here is the first release "Twilight of my Arrival" produced by Street Level from Wordsmith's upcoming August project "The Overdue & Underrated" mixtape. With his collaborative project with Chubb Rock being pushed back to July 14th, Wordsmith wants to continue to give his fans quality music to fill some of the void. Look for the duo to drop the title track from the album "Bridging the Gap" in the next two weeks.

Mos Def-Say You Will Live @ The Blue Note(2009)
Mos Def-Say You Will
Link
Back in January Mos Def did a string of shows at NYC legendary jazz club The Blue Note. Here we have Mighty Mos' 12 minute rendition of Kanye West's "Say You Will" with the help of RCDC Experiment (Robert Glasper, Chris Dave, Casey Benjamin & Derrick Hodge). Apparently Mos also adds verses from "U R The One" into his interpretation of Yeezy's track. As I said, this one runs 12 minutes of live audio, but it's worth every second of your time.

Ken Kaniff first became well known on the self-titled skit on Eminems breakthrough album The Slim Shady LP, but contrary to popular belief the voice was not done by Eminem. An underground rapper by the name of Aristotle, who was a friend of Eminem’s, was the original Ken Kaniff on the SSLP, but then Aristotle and Eminem had a disagreement so Eminem went on to do the Ken Kaniff skits himself on The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show and provided the voice for Ken on the Slim Shady cartoon show.
Aristotle was not pleased with Em for stealing the character that he created and this is the main reason for the rivalry. Aristotle went on to record a whole album as Ken, titled The Ken Kaniff Show. Aristotle is a genius!

"Cassette City, the appropriately titled second album
from Philadelphia-based sonic auteur Lushlife,
has not only breathed new life into hip-hop,
returning it to its former glories after a prolonged
period of stasis and creative indulgence, but has also
harnessed hip-hop’s original spirit of wanderlust and
connected it to a futuristic vision of what it could,
should and would be." MySpace
