The first single, "Chase that Feeling", was released on 5 May, 2009.

With songs sung in broad Australian accents, nimble flows and stunning beats, HILLTOP HOODS live by an ethos that is innovative and fearless. Samiyam - Return EP(2008)

1. Return (3:07)
2. Trick Platform (3:27)
3. Moon Shoes (3:00)
4. Cheesecake Backslap (2:05)

Link

Hiphop pressure beats this week from Hyperdub's first US signing and Flying Lotus collaborator Samiyam. With only a small handful of releases to his name for everyone from Fat City recs to Ninja Tune the styles sit very closely to his production brother Flylo with a superbly squashed selection of downtempo hiphop all carrying that distinctive synthline sound and post-bump rhythms drawing from the legacy of Dilla mixed with the recent 8-bit sounds displayed on Hyperdub from Quarta 330, Darkstar, Rustie and the rest. Samiyam obviously shares Flylo's knack for unravelled slo-beats on 'Cheesecake backslap', but it's the first three cuts, and especially 'trick platform' that place Samiyam out on his own with a deftly melancholy melodic touch that will beg many repeated listens. Yet again, another reason to keep a very close eye on the ever evolving Hyperdub imprint, and a wonky killer.

Samiyam-Zomby Mix(2009)

Samiyam compiled this mix of new and old original beats for a Hyperdub showcase on BBC´s Mary Anne Hobbs a few months back. you might recognize some of the tunes but there should be a few cuts you haven´t heard. Also, towards the end of the mix you get a nice piece of Zomby´s BBC mix.

"M.E.R.C.U.R.Y. stands for "Messenger Expressing Rhymes of Consciousness Unto Revolutionary Youth". He likes to be called "Merc" for short.
The Roman god Mercury was his favorite mythological figure because this character served as the messenger between Gods and humans. Merc felt it was the purpose of the poet/musician to be the communicator between the spiritual world and mankind. He's also a Gemini, who's ruling planet is Mercury, and he describes his rap style as being like the liquid-metal by the same name."
