What happens when one of the most critically acclaimed underground hip hop producers/mc joins forces with the only Canadian band that plays live Hip Hop, Jazz and Funk Fusion? The result is “The Man”, a response to the call for authenticity, sought after by many across the world, in the realms of an art form that is all too often exploited, misused and left for dead.

In the perspective of setting the record straight, Metazon and Kev Brown unite and through an exercise in style, they bring it back to its roots and clearly demonstrate why we should follow their lead, and the reason they are “the man for the job…” when the time comes to regain the prestige for the True School Hip Hop and to give back the place that it deserves.

In keeping up with the tradition of Brotherhood, held so dearly by the Hip Hop culture, the contributions by beatmakers Ken-Lo, The Incubator, Johnny Illdigger and BrownyBeats all do credit to Cristo Ballz’s original version through remixes faithful to their reputation of true Hip Hop artists, striving to keep alive the Soul and the real vocation of this art form; one’s self-expression through arts.
