West Coast rapper Kurupt has assembled a bi-coastal group of emcees, who will collaborate together on the upcoming album The Academy. The compilation album features all new material from a number of well-respected rappers, including Pete Rock, M.O.P., Keith Murray, Raekwon, Method Man, Redman, Royce Da 5'9, Styles P., Jadakiss, Sean Price and numerous others. Over 55 emcees are featured on the project in total, with artists being grouped into six different categories including “Major,” “Independent,” “New & Old School,” “Legendary” and “Soon to Be.” All production on The Academy is handled by Marlon Price and JP Beats. The Academy is due in stores on September 13 via Terminal 3/Penagon/Bonzi Records.
