"Anti-Pop Consortium was one of the most inventive underground hip hop crews in the early 2000's. The Consortium was formed in fall 1997 to turn the commercial hip hip scene on its head. It consisted of the three vocalists (Priest, Beans and M. Sayyid) which come from the New York street poetry scene and producer E.Blaize in the background. After a series of cassette only releases on the own label Antipop Recordings and some underground singles the label 75 Ark released the group's debut album "Tragic Epilogue" in 2000." Putting out an album is no easy task, especially not for anyone who may consider themselves a perfectionist, and after years of delays producer Mr. Bambu finally drops Complete Contemplation on Organik Recordings, which he also co-founded over ten years ago. From conception to completion, whether it's going back to rework tracks or re-design the cover art, one thing is for sure, it must be rewarding and worth the wait to finally see the album released his way and now to finally hear feedback, because it is super dope! Not choppy, not too heavy on samples and not glitchy or too electronic...it lies somewhere in between. I suppose what makes each of those sub-genres in instrumental albums appealing is what makes this one unique. It never gets dull, and each track offers something completely different. Admiring the time put into it is closer to understanding its complexity. Peep this if your a fan of Flying Lotus, Dr. Who Dat or DJ 2tall.
