Michal Menert was born in Kielce, Poland, in 1982, while the country was under communist rule. As a young child, he and his parents fled to the United States by way of West Germany, becoming political refugees. During his childhood, Michal's father exposed him to a wide variety of Eastern and Western music, giving the boy fertile soil in which to plant his musical visions early on. Coming from a musical background of playing guitar, keyboards, and dabbling in a variety of other instruments gave Michal a unique approach to composing his own musical style. He co-produced the debut Pretty Lights album, "Taking Up Your Precious Time" and has collaborated with Derek Vincent Smith on a handful of tracks since then. Currently he is releasing a solo album, entitled "Dreaming of A Bigger Life" on prettylightsmusic.com. His sound combines samples from both Eastern European and Western vinyl with rich analog synthesis and organic, hard hitting beats. It is a fusion of yesterday's elements and tomorrow's dreams. In 2002 the Hip Hop Underground was introduced to a classic album from Copywrite and producer RJD2 both hailing from the super group MHz. The album "T.H.E. High Exhaulted" released on E.C. Records was poorly promoted and undershipped from the very begining. However RJD2's 'Dead Ringers" had already come out and featured the track "June" with Copywrite and was a huge success. Whatever copies were available were quickly consumed and later re sold on sites like Ebay and Amazon. With "T.H.E High Exhaulted" being out of print and selling for upwards of $40 on some sites, Copywrite and Man Bites Dog Records felt it necessary to update and re-release this classic. Featured on this 8th Anniversary Edition are 12 of the orginal tracks plus 8 new tracks including two very rare remixes (One by RJD2). These new tracks bridge a gap from 2002 to where we find Copywrite today, who is working on his opus "The Life and Times of Peter Nelson". With new artwork, new tracks and a remaster of the orginal album this record will surely
become a classic once again.

In the beginning they were just five guys from Ohio. From an unlikely locale the five became some of the most influential people in underground Hip Hop. The MHz concept started with Copywrite who formed the group with longtime childhood friends Camu Tao and Jakki da Motamouth. The trio then met RJD2, who at the time was just getting in to producing Hip Hop. With RJD2 on board as their DJ, Tage joined the group and the five began recording together. A short time later Copywrite met Fondle 'Em's Bobbito Garcia who quickly helped the young rapper put out the single "Hollier than Thou" produced by RJD2. The single led to the meteoric rise of both Copywrite who signed to Eastern Conference Records and RJD2 who signed with Definitive Jux. But before any of that, there was Table Scraps. This is not a collection of what hit the floor, but a compilation of 12" singles and other cuts that led to the success of MHz and its members. Never before treated to a proper commercial release the time is right for rediscovery of this essential early material from Copywrite, Camu Tao, Jakki, Tage and RJD2.
