Before materializing as an official group, the Natural Elements were originally conceived as a group of solo artists brought together in 1993 under the tutelage of producer Charlemagne. This initial grouping, whose members were initially signed to Fortress Records, included members Mr. Voodoo, L-Swift, KA, G-Blass, Howie Smalls and the InTimidator. By 1995, however, membership slimmed to include only Mr. Voodoo, L-Swift and the newly-added A-Butta. The trio's countless appearances on the NYC freestyle and mixtape circuits culminated with a record deal on the Tommy Boy Black sublabel and the release of the single "2 Tons" in 1999. Although the highly-anticipated NE album was completed, problems with Tommy Boy shelved the project and the album never saw the light of day... until NOW! It was told there are only about 20, or somethin, press copies out there in the world today.

EMC consists of 4 critically acclaimed lyricists: Masta Ace, Stricklin, Punchline and Wordsworth who have already been touring together for a while and decided to set up a whole album inspired by events they experienced throughout these tours. There are both very funny and witty interludes and good tracks produced by among others Nicolay, Ayatollah and many more. This record here is one of the best hip-hop records of last year and is capable to feed even the hungriest hip-hop fans.

ECID, the rapper and producer behind label Fill in the Breaks is releasing a
new album, and this time a concept album, no less. The mind behind 2006s
Biograffiti and 2007s Economy Size Godd Costume brings us 2009s Red
Beretta, a concept album advertised with the premise, the bizarre events
that turn a modern day hero into a monster. Hes got an interesting and
captivating style his vocals are off the wall and his subject matter is
insightfully candid... he definitely gives you a dose of his opinions on
people, relationships, politics, and everything else whether you want to hear
it or not. And now theres a new album coming out and its going to be
something entirely different, so expect it to be good.

Link Is Down After Request From The Artist

The original version of Mac Lethal's "11:11" contains 15 unique tracks that did not appear on the final version of his album released on RSE. In Mac' own words, "While I am very proud of the version of 11:11 that came out in 2007, I have wanted the world to listen to this version for some time now. All of these songs were written in 2004. Death, humor, sensualism. 11:11's original draft." It's understood that Mac Lethal is a prolific artist, so he can easily pump out an album's worth of material in a month's time, but it's a shame that a collection of songs this good did not hit the store shelves. Thankfully, it is now available for those who know where to find it.

Don't be misled by the title of this excellent mixtape from DJ Premier. Awesome selection and entertaining cuts from Primo. Listen to the finest classics which all deserve to be played by radios everywhere even if they are forced to continue their lives in exile beside the undeserving bloom of artists like Lil' Wayne, 50 Cent and all such ringtone-rap blurps. As Big Shug is saying in track 13 of this mixtape ("The Jig Is Up"): "Hip-hop today is like a big magic show: one magician, and a whole bunch of shining' hoe's."
