Among the brick roads and weathered Victorian houses bordering the University of Illinois, The High Street Orchestra was started on the 700 block of High St in the summer of '99 in Urbana, Illinois. The orchestra consists of Chris Jeckel on vocals, Tim Bailey and L. Wasserman on track production, and Scott Spears - also known as DJ Resonate - on the turn tables. Other musical contributors are Kris Bauer, Aaron Hapki, Matt Brelji, and Matt Harsh. The Orchestra combines influences from soul, jazz, trip hop and hip hop resulting in an eccentric sound. "When Eggs Go Rotten" was digitally mastered by Jonathan Pines at Private Studios. Pines has worked on projects in the past with The Blackouts and he has received two Grammy nominations for his work with Billy Brag and Jeff Tweetie from Wilco on Mermaid Avenue Vol. 1 and 2. Pines has also worked with Eminem and The Invisible. H.S.O's video Opening Statments was shot by Kenneth Weatherford.
