Casual Projects are eight like-minded musicians that have played and collaborated together for four years. With kudos to their name already, such as reaching the top 5 in the Musicoz 'Best Live Recording' category and also being named a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition, they are now about to unleash their distinctive sound to the nation. Hailing from the Australian Capital, Canberra, this dynamic eight piece are ready to roll out an album that is sure to positively surprise the majority of unaware industry folk and fans alike. NO REST is the debut album, which sees Casual Projects cement their reputation in the Australian music scene, as a band on the rise. Their blend of Hip Hop / Jazz / Soul / Funk is intoxicating and highlights strong vocal abilities and musicianship. Recorded at Electric Avenue Studios in Sydney, it was produced by Buchman a.k.a Tony Buchen (Macromantics, Kid Confucius). Mastered by Chris Gehringer (Talib Kweli, Timberland, Nelly Furtado, Blackalicious and Bootsy Collins) at Sterling Sound Studios, New York. Already having released their debut album independently and selling over 3000 Copies, Casual Projects, have built a large and strong fan base. The band has already broken into the international market, with a distribution deal in Japan for the debut release. Casual Projects success in Australian album sales was due to a constant commitment to touring. They have performed over 150 energetic live shows in just 3 short years, including two independent East Coast tours, 10 Victorian tours, frequent Sydney and regional NSW shows and major festivals (Great Escape, Stonefest, Village fair & more).
