Nuggets of the good stuff from the more esoeteric fringes of hip-hop and electrnica courtesy of the hotly tipped Illum Sphere and Beat Dimension contribtor Mono/Poly. 'Medusa' follows the dilated scope of Illum Sphere's 'Incoming EP' with a post-Dilla blend of deeply bumped bass kicks and beautiful gamelan-like bells constructed with a post-rock/electronica sense of arrangement. Mono/Poly's 'Oil Fields' on the flip opts for a slo-sleazin' electro-soul vibe like Lone or the Thriller series gone horny. Big!
