Yo Larry! I've never said it has to be the same like the tunes in '99, of course it should be different. This track just didn't convince me. Kweli's been dancing on the edge of mainstream and quality music for a while anyway.

Completely agree, I get a bit nervous at the thought of the new album, instead of excited, I just had to hear kweli's latest offerings and Hi-technology 3 to feel like that. Slipping into the mainstream. Train of thought was incredible, some of the beats still blow me away today. I know music changes over time, but I swear the couple of tracks I've heard just aren't of the same quality. Anyway, guess all we can do is wait to hear the full album!

Agree with both of you (apart from Larry). This track is upsetting... He was always floating around the mainstream (NOT as if it's a problem, I ain't no snob) but this is no good.
Hopefully I'll be proved wrong...

You're right, this is what I'm talking about. Being in the limelight of mainstream is not necessarily bad. Common did a fine album with Kanye (uuuhh, but not with Pharell) and Q Tip's Renaissance was also a mainstream release at Universal Motown (Lindsay Lohan's label) but you know they still brought quality. Hi Teknology 3 was pretty far from satisfying, not mentioning Kweli's dodgy guest appearances in some close-to-pop or pop releases which weren't good musically. It's not only about which direction music evolves but also about being able to maintain the principles you're (or have been) spreading. peace to real music lovers!

I CANT BELIEVE YOU GUYS ARE SLEEPING ON THIS TRACK ...I THINK THE PRODUCTION IS PRETTY DOPE, AND HE DEF RIPS IT THRU THE SONG. I MEAN, YES THE FIRST ALBUM IS CLASSIC, HANDS DOWN. YES HE BEEN FLOATING IN THE MAINSTREAM ONCE IN A WHILE, ESPECIALLY BLACKSMITH RECORDS FUCKING AROUND WITH UNIVERSAL. I DEF HEARD THE MIXTAPE THEY DROPPED THAT STATIK SELEKTAH MIXED AND I HEARD SOME TRACKS THAT WILL BE ON THE ALBUM. ITS PRETTY DOPE, DONT SLEEP
