When he's not DJing or manning his own label, Interdependent Media, Evan "TRUTHLiVE" Phillips spends time recording his raps. So much time, in fact, that he put more than 100 tracks under his belt to prepare for his full-length debut, Patience, and its prelude EP, The Unlearning. After spending years as a DJ, TRUTHLiVE honed his craft as an MC and producer, the former of which is on full display across the lyrics-heavy Patience. He's joined by several guest MCs, most notably Von Pea, Donwill, Ras Kass, and Finale. And behind the boards, TRUTHLiVE is backed by one of hip-hop's finest producers in Jake One.

It's a good hiphop record. The flow of Truhlive shows a bit resemblance to Ghettosocks, I think; but I still like it. The support of Janke One is there, you can feel it when you're listening to it. All in all: good beats and good rhyming = good record.
