Bibio is a self-taught British musician Stephen Wilkinson who creates a blend of electronica, downtempo and folk music, using a combination of tape loops, dictaphones, cassette recorders, and hordes of other lo-fi equipment. Bibio’s folk-inspired guitar noodling is constantly on the fritz, with swelling drone soundscapes and a multitude of effects in never-ending struggle for dominance.
A diverse collection of music, each track on this opus has a distinct identity and stands apart from the next, some vocal, some instrumental, from vintage disco beats to swirling expansive pieces to plaintive guitar songs.
A bit irregular post to BBRS, but I'm looking forward to hearing any comments. Favourite tracks: "Fire Ant", "S'Vive" and "Cry! Baby!".
