the future of hip hop beats. I've been keeping the eye on the Russian producer BMB for a while and he usually drops quality, future sound of hip-hop. this is a very good sampler from his work however we cannot really talk about professional Dj mixing here.

the future? maybe if you are stuck in the past? This style has been out for many many years. this is your basic true school hiphop feel... this can not be the future when its just basic hiphop beats

- basic, boring and formulaic, not the future

I know most of the tracks have been out for a while but when I hear these sounds they give me much more novum than a lot of albums which came out from numerous MC's and producers with the same boring beats. just go through this first page of the blog, even the Ruste Juxx album. These beats are just not like those. sorry for the word future but it's definitely less borning than most of the sh't that comes out these days. show me a beat in hiphop which doesn't get formulaic after 30 seconds. it's part of the game. this music here is not Flying Lotus and it doesn't even wanna be.

Yes Miska, agree 100% bro. This stuff is dope.

its just not the future, period. Your main point was this is the future of hiphop, when clearly its just a relived past time of true school hiphop.

Flying Lotus, is that dupstep/hiphop with dial up modem sound fx? Also not the future.

To be fair this site has become quantity over quality, if anything that's what you are Miska. Anything gets posted here these days and all that posting floods off the good quality posts.

*if anything that's what you are Miska*

'if anything that's what you are noticing, Miska'

thanks for the correction:) I've been on the board for almost 4 years so I know what's going on. true that the blog's been flooded with more and more stuff which don't reach the standard of good quality, at least in my view. however (and as the example shows) there is no ultimate good music. you may find something dope and others won't like it even if you're both listening to the same genre in general. it's just it. degustibus non est disputandum. there are a few cats out there who try to break in and they are happy if someone downloads their new projects and it's simply one forum more which makes it available to others. it's a channel if you like. I've expressed my dislikes so many times on albums/tracks/videos/mixtapes and other projects which were found to be liked by others. I've gotten into neverending battles with music lovers and listeners but in the end we always conclude that it's only about the clash of different tastes. how to filter stuff? where to start it? good question. if I post music I consider good, it can be good to one and sh't to others, just like the very current example. you're right in the sense that back in 2008 it was easy: there were 4-5 posts a day and you could easily find what you liked. nowadays you must dig and develop the advanced skills of cherry-picking. we had this discussion with Snipes last summer and also with Fats. I hope bloggers won't leave the site regardless.

as regards this sampler, I like what BMB's doing, to me it's a more unique sound than many other producers I've heard recently but this is only the way I see it. you claim that it's nothing special and there are other, much better producers in the game. I must say I also liked the Russian samples and lyrics which to me added a different blend and an interesting sound. I accept your point though and I don't keep all the music whichever have been posted here.

keep up with the good taste, Man! and peace

Very well put sir. I conclude with the same thoughts as you, taste is taste. But to classify BMB as the future takes out taste in this example. Although I understand your view, taste does matter but genres have their structure and timing for a reason, without out these they become obligatory. Music is much like a color board of every spectrum and hue available. You can not tell the color red to be blue and say you've invented something brand new in the red hue. The very fact the color is red is because it has a structure in nature that it can not break, music is different in this way but once you change the spectrum, may it be color or sound, you must reclassify it as another shade or hue of the originating color. I hope you understand my example using color and sound as these things are set much before we (as humans) set them. Taste is of some importance but you can not say taste is the end all. Their is structure to every genre and once you leave that it becomes something else, another genre. Hiphop much like the color red is solid in nature and can not be reinvented/rediscovered.

I expect we agree more then this conversation would lead one to believe.

Cheers to you!

*To be fair this site has become quantity over quality

its not sites fault,we post and we let you judge if you like it or not..
(basically we give you free music and you judge us about quality/quantity,a thanx would be more proper..)

in my opinion if it was a matter of quality we would made maximum 5 posts in a month..

why are you still blogging then?

I believe the answer's been told already. We let the fans judge, as there's no absolute good and if a project is found to be crap by one, another one may still like it.

*why are you still blogging then?

at the early days because i wanted to promote the radio show..
then came HHB and the chance to be with the best which i grab it and became e-famous..

nowadays and after some years blogging i m blogging for my friends, for the contribs that i speak very often(which some of them i had the honour to met in person),for the peeps that mail me and write in cbox a simple thanx about what we are doing and for the artists that we are related from all over the world..

my question is why you are in here since we dont have quality anymore(last time i checked we had all the latest best releases and of course posts from unknown artists which some of them worth a listen and some not,so in my opinion we keep posting like we did 5 years ago..)
