First of all Hockeymask is the freshest. Rapping since the late 90's, he has based his style off of how he grew up - writing graffitti, partying, boosting, sexing chicks, and hustling. Having rapped in cyphers and partys for a couple years before taking things a little more seriously around 2002 when he met up with Quantum Doom and Crimewave and formed ILL QAEDA (Which was originally called MEGADEF but was changed due to the discovering of the group "Styles of Beyond" using that name for their album.) Around this same time Hockeymask began making beats and for years the group freestyled together on a regular basis amongst themselves and others locally (Including Double B, who would be added to the group at the time of changing the name to Ill Qaeda). It was here that he crafted his style of rapping. Growing up as a poor kid on the central coast of California, his mother raised him on kool aid and supported him with food stamps. His appreciation for music and recording began at an early age. His interest in it can be traced back as early as eight years old when he realised you can plug headphones into a standard tape player and use them as a microphone to record. From then on his hobbys were skateboarding all day, catching peices and bombs all night, and listening to underground music everywhere in between - be it hip-hop, metal, or punk rock. All of these influences carried on with him and formed the artist you hear today. Late 2007 He realised making music was his calling and decided to dedicate himself to it. By the time it was 2008 he had a small arsenal of songs prepared, and collectively the members of IQ had a ridiculous amount of beats ready to make new tracks with. 2008 saw the release of his "Hardcore Artform" mixtape, "Fourtrack Warpath" demo tape (actual cassette tape), and his debut album release "Fuck The Dumb Shit" is set to be released sometime this year also.
