Rooted in hip-hop, and dipping into elements of indie rock, downtempo, dub, and dance, Inspired Flight is taking your pre-conceived notions of what a band and DJ is, and merging them into something new and quite mesmerizing. By creatively integrating traditional DJ elements, such as sampling and scratching, into very original and catchy songs, the duo from San Diego, CA is creating a unique sound that translates into an electric live experience. They pull off their music live by combining multiple laptops, keyboards, and turntables with playing real instruments. Geared with guitars, kalimbas, melodicas, and live vocals, Inspired Flight has already been called the future of DJ'ing.

Inspired Flight is a duo comprised of the master turntablist, OpenOptics, and the accomplished guitarist/songwriter, Chavez. Both began their interest with music at a very young age with a love for hip-hop, but as teenagers OpenOptics became obsessed with turntables and DJ'ing, while Chavez became obsessed with guitar, British rock, and songwriting. The two traveled their respective musical paths with serious dedication and passion, both truly honing their skills as musicians, and met for the first time in 2006. By the time their paths crossed they both had seriously ventured into recording and producing music, and had both been developing a strong love for electronic music. It didn't take long at all for the two to collaborate, and the marriage of musical interests, backgrounds, and personalities was perfect for creating something special and new.

Inspired Flight has been working hard, rehearsing, remixing, and recording non-stop since they started a little over a year ago. The duo has already opened for Bitter:sweet and Adam Freeland, and have done remixes for various artists, including one for Tra La La Blip which has been played on Australian national radio. They currently have an EP out, and are working on their first full-length album which should be done this summer.
