"Live psychedelic instrumentation mixes with grimey east coast hip-hop on Chapter 7’s debut album, "The Color Scheme." Chapter 7 handles all production work and leaves the rhyming up to a number of indie hip-hop’s most talented mc’s including Yak Ballz, Tame One, C-Chan of Slow Suicide Stimulus, Cardboard City’s Benn Grim, J.Creddy, Sammy Doodle and Division East recording artist The Man From Somewhere Else. Melissa Seitz lends her vocals to the pop/rock influenced "Believer". Born and raised in New Jersey, Mike DeSino (aka Chapter 7 in hip-hop circles) has been making noise in the underground playing in various bands and producing for countless local acts. In 2008 he contributed four tracks to Yak Ballz critically acclaimed album "Scifentology II", including the song "New Communication" featuring Def Jux recording artist Cage. With the release of "The Color Scheme", 2009 will prove to be an even more productive year. Chapter 7 will be contributing tracks to Yak Ballz upcoming "Gas Galaxy" mixtape as well as C-Chan’s debut solo record "Sharks & Dinosaurs" out on FloSpot Records later in the year. There are a number of other projects that are in the very early stages."

MCA of Beastie Boys diagnosed with cancer...
Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his parotid gland. While the doctors caught the cancer early enough and Yauch is expected to make a full recovery, the band has canceled their forthcoming tour dates, which included many headlining festival appearances and will push back the release of their next record, ‘Hot Sauce Committee Part 1′ to an unknown date.
In a video message posted to Beastieboys.com, Yauch explains his situations to the world...

In the beginning they were just five guys from Ohio. From an unlikely locale the five became some of the most influential people in underground Hip Hop. The MHz concept started with Copywrite who formed the group with longtime childhood friends Camu Tao and Jakki da Motamouth. The trio then met RJD2, who at the time was just getting in to producing Hip Hop. With RJD2 on board as their DJ, Tage joined the group and the five began recording together. A short time later Copywrite met Fondle 'Em's Bobbito Garcia who quickly helped the young rapper put out the single "Hollier than Thou" produced by RJD2. The single led to the meteoric rise of both Copywrite who signed to Eastern Conference Records and RJD2 who signed with Definitive Jux. But before any of that, there was Table Scraps. This is not a collection of what hit the floor, but a compilation of 12" singles and other cuts that led to the success of MHz and its members. Never before treated to a proper commercial release the time is right for rediscovery of this essential early material from Copywrite, Camu Tao, Jakki, Tage and RJD2.

hip hop producer and drum break aficionado Inf (Bas te Braak), short for "Infinite," unveils his long-awaited debut instrumental album, The Go Round. The record drips with melancholy like a rare, dusty 70's OST. Contained within are 18 of the most mind-numbing loops and grooves known to the business. Despite the absence of emcees, Inf did not work alone. Bassist Tom Jonkman lays down additional low-end on "Wasting Time," while Tomas Delfgaauw wails on his sax like there's no tomorrow concluding "Whodidit." US actors Elizabeth Cobbe and Jose Villarreal contributed late-night finishing touches at an East Austin studio, recording the dialog between tracks.
Inf started making beats in 1995 to back his rhymes. In 2001, he retired from rapping to produce full-time in Utrecht, NL. Since then, this Dutch workhorse has released six proper albums, among a barrage of beats and remixes for other artists. Inf's notable work includes Sneaky Pete's single "U Don't Know" and his Dutch-language gem The Adventures of Kapabel & Inf.
