"House of Bees Vol. 1" is the latest from B. Dolan of Strange Famous Records; a 50 minute compilation of unreleased songs, collaborations and remixes assembled by label-mate and UK producer Buddy Peace. This mix will be offered to the public both as a free download and as a limited run of signed, purchasable hard copies, available this August from Strange Famous online store (www.strangefamous.com).

Dolan's writing and delivery here is by turns venomous and vulnerable, playful and possessed, and Buddy Peace has got the range and depth of production to match his lyricist's every whim. A number of producers and emcees show up for cameos, including Jackson of Grand Buffet, Curtis Plum, Prolyphic, Alias, Aupheus, and Strange Famous label boss Sage Francis, who lends verses to a number of these songs.

B. Dolan is currently touring the U.S. with the Rock the Bells tour, and is set to release Fallen House, Sunken City, an album produced entirely by legendary beatsmith Alias, on Strange Famous Records this winter. Buddy Peace will be releasing a new LP, Late Model Sedan, digitally via Strange Famous Records on August 18.

"CeeMajor founded The Proov in 1996 together with a couple of residents from Leeuwarden (Holland). The Proov dispersed a bit in 2001 and nowadays consists of MC’s CeeMajor & Gumshoe. On stage they are joined by a DJ. They work closely together with producers Colt & L Geronimo. Between the releases from The Proov demo "Speakerroom" (1997) and their album debut "Traditions" (Soul Relation, 1999/2000) and their live cd Reality Check (Soul Relation, 2002), they played as the opening-act for Organized Konfusion, Tha Alkaholiks, Large Professor and represented on festivals like Double Talk (with Black Star and Company Flow) and Back To Planet Rock (with Afrika Bambaataa and Extince)." "Live psychedelic instrumentation mixes with grimey east coast hip-hop on Chapter 7’s debut album, "The Color Scheme." Chapter 7 handles all production work and leaves the rhyming up to a number of indie hip-hop’s most talented mc’s including Yak Ballz, Tame One, C-Chan of Slow Suicide Stimulus, Cardboard City’s Benn Grim, J.Creddy, Sammy Doodle and Division East recording artist The Man From Somewhere Else. Melissa Seitz lends her vocals to the pop/rock influenced "Believer". Born and raised in New Jersey, Mike DeSino (aka Chapter 7 in hip-hop circles) has been making noise in the underground playing in various bands and producing for countless local acts. In 2008 he contributed four tracks to Yak Ballz critically acclaimed album "Scifentology II", including the song "New Communication" featuring Def Jux recording artist Cage. With the release of "The Color Scheme", 2009 will prove to be an even more productive year. MCA of Beastie Boys diagnosed with cancer...

Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his parotid gland. While the doctors caught the cancer early enough and Yauch is expected to make a full recovery, the band has canceled their forthcoming tour dates, which included many headlining festival appearances and will push back the release of their next record, ‘Hot Sauce Committee Part 1′ to an unknown date.

Half of the mixtape is a collection of raw original tracks featuring production from both established and up and coming heavyweights including DJ Husky, J-Zone, and Blakasper of The Plague. The other half of the tape consists of various beat jacking that vary in tempo, genre, and even that beloved Boom Boom Bap that we can never quite get enough of.
