Traffic Entertainment presents The Memphis Sounds Ike's Moods, an all-instrumental collection of Isaac Hayes' most well-known songs. In a similar vein as the "Ultimate Breaks & Beats Instrumentals" album, Ike's Moods takes the best from Isaac Hayes' catalog and transforms them into instrumental gems.

Just as Hayes defined funk and soul in the 60s and 70s, the members of The Memphis Sound have carved out their own unique contemporary sound that not only attracts a younger generation to the genres, but also pleases fans of the sounds since their inception. Consisting of members from El Michels Affair, the Dap Kings, and Antibalas, these instrumentalists have been a part of a movement of neo-wave funk and soul musicians, redefining the sound through projects with Mark Ronson (his most recent album Version) and Amy Winehouse (Back to Black, as well as touring with the singer); reworking classic instrumentals for the Wu-Tang Clan on a series of 7" records and performing live alongside the clansmen; and other various live and studio recorded projects.

Ike's Moods contains such classics as "Shaft," "Walk On By," and "Look Of Love," and aptly pays homage to the many moods and musical stylings of Hayes. An innovator of his time, Isaac Hayes is most known for his work on the music for Shaft whose theme song was made famous by its wah-wah guitar and multi-layered symphonic arrangement. Passing away in August 2008, Hayes left behind a career that spanned an extensive discography, filmography, and a handful of awards including three Grammy's, an NAACP Image Award, and an Academy Award. Celebrate the career of this American music icon who defined the funk and soul genres with Ike's Moods.

Can I Kick It Volume 2 is the 2nd installment of The Can I Kick It mixtape series which will be the leading road to the release of Karniege's debut album.

That being said, Can I Kick It Volume Two is the real prelude to his first real solo effort. "The theme of this tape was for halloween. I had meant to post it on October 31st, but accidentally screwed up the sequencing of all the beats so i had to go back and redo and it just killed time. When I was done with it, it was already November 1st lol. Really the overall theme of the tape was darkness, pain, etc. because it was meant for halloween and the cover was supposed to reflect that. If you didn't know, the guy holding the skull is Anton Lavey who was actually the founder and high priest of the church of satan and the first largest following of satanism in america. I don't know if anyone is aware of that, but I obviously wasn't gonna go to the extreme with that theme because i'm not a satanist. I did however include dialogue in between beats with the various "interludes" that followed, most of them from Lavey which spoke on the subject. A lot of the beats have a dark sound to them, a few don't. Some of the tracks are also remixes. I've been working on this actual tape since probably August on and off. It wasn't till September that I decided to hopefully put the tape out on halloween. This is the first tape in a series. I'm not sure yet how many more i'm gonna do, but they will all have "Red" in the title since it's my favorite color and I figured why not build on that ? The next tape will be a total 360 in terms of the theme. Also I kept the beats purely on that boom bap shit for most of the tape. The next one will have a change of pace maybe. Strange Journey Volume Two is the sixth album from Southern hip hop group CunninLynguists, set to be released on November 3, 2009. The release features guest appearances from E-40, Sean Price, Blue Sky Black Death, Bronze Nazareth, Poison Pen, Guilty Simpson and J-Zone.

The first single, "Running Wild" featuring E-40 was released online on October 13, 2009. The second song released was "The WWKYA Tour [Remix]", featuring Extended Famm as a promotional tie in to the release of Substantial/Burns EP on October 20, 2009. The second official single, "To Be For Real" was released online on october 28, 2009. Strange Journey Volume Two is the second of a double-release, following Strange Journey Volume One that was released July 14, 2009.
