link dead
Stop fucking independent artists with illegal links.
hey are you american? and christian too? what the fuck is this? so narrow minded heads. do you think i would ever know about postformat if it wasn't for these "illegal" links? do you think i would ever play them in my dj set or that i would go to their live show? thse links are the best promotion for independend artists. do you still eat the music industies' propaganda?
Well, you had an illegal link and still can't spell the artist properly. So, it's hard to follow your argumentation lol.
And the rapidshare premium account reseller provision? Is it also some kind of "support"?
The album is properly previewable ALL OVER the net, available at amazon, itunes, juno and whatever mp3 shop and streaming service.
What the hell is so difficult about spending 8$ on an album that you like?!
You guys do not love music, all you do is a quick fuck for the SEO Karma and a few cents of one-click hoster provision.
well, if i had the chance to download it i would spell it the right way. and maybe i could tell some people about it. see i don't have the time for searcing everything around. And you know, some times it's love, some times it's a quick fuck. what's wrong with that? these blogs provide x amount of musical pleasure to the people and if you ask me, this can only be good for the artists
No trust me, it's not good for the artist. It good for your own pleasure only.
The point is, the music industry is already dead. You're now "helping" the small and cool artists to starve. And that's just pervert.
The indie music scene is no "industry". It's a bunch of nice and passionated people.
You heard of Domu's retirement? Or DJ Shadow's manifest against piracy? Or FlyLo's countless tweets against blogspoter activities? Or Quest Loves tweets against what people now call "sharing"?
I mean fuck BP, the Church, fuck the war, I mean there's so much to fuck!!
...but why fuck the coolest people around?! Those that bring you through hard times, provide instant pleasure and goose bumps, why?!
with so much music around and not so much money i think you have to listen first and buy ,support later..
we might do damage at some artists but we make known a lot of others like Portformat,i dont think a lot of peeps around know him..
thats why we put a purchase link with the post, peeps are very lazy nowadays..
also the problem are the record companies, they loose money,if you are good of what you are doing then you can find all the support and the love you seek!
check lives and selling cds or tshirts there..
we know where we are wrong but we know where we are right,as a blog we support Creative Juices because we like them as a label but nobody asked our support..
also Blue Sky Black Death are related with us,they send us to post their new stuff, they are independent or not?
so calm down there are greater things to worry about about a link..
I fully agree with anonymous 1 and sniper... althou you had some good points as well.
Never would have know these guys without BBRS... and many times when i really like an album or feel they deserve the support for it... Then ill go out and buy it.
But i guess ill never know what this album is all about, considering the link is dead...
Guys, don't take my criticism personal. I'm sure you're pretty decent.
It's just hard for me to follow your argumentation. Again, you can listen to that album everywhere without having to offer the full album. The other link for example offers a generous preview which is much easier than fighting with tone of banners, timers and slow downloads.
It is clear that the artist does not want this. He would have directly offered the album for free himself if he wanted to do so.
Now doing something that is explicitly against the will of the artist and saying "but we just support the artist" at the same time seems a little shady to me.
An interesting thing is that I see a few explicit "non-download" albums here in the blog and an interesting discussion about it in the chat.
Don't you apply double moral? Some of your related albums aren't offered as download - probably because you have a good reason for it I guess - instantly dropping sales perhaps? ;)
So why do you offer other people hard work for free on the blog and not your own? I mean, I really try hard to understand your point of view, but the latter makes it really difficult to follow your thoughts.
So, your own (or friend's) work isn't offered for free. You basically only "promote-upload" stuff you haven't done yourself, Why?! Perhaps you don't really trust in the promotional effect mentioned above?
BTW, much thanks for the polite and more or less civil discussion here. Really nice.
man i think i explained all at my post..
you said your opinion which i respect it,i said ours..
also about the offers you said, they hit our mailbox and they say what they want, anyone can do this..
and you are talking no more than 10 posts from over 5000 in here, thats a drop in the ocean..
because we respect the artists thats why we have a mail that the one that cares about his music, promotion, whatever he has at his mind he can contact us and say that he doesnt want to up his cds or he wants promo or whatever i hope you get my point..
you are talking like being an artist,if you are you are doing that for the money, the fame or what?
we are spending hours of our free time on this site and we dont want nothing for exchange..
we are happy with the peeps that recognize our job and write a simple thanks, thats all..
we are polite cause we are Gentlemens :P
Whenever I see: "Link is down after request from the artist". It means one thing for me: I cannot download it. That's it. If he requests so, let it be. Both sides have a point here. However Snipes has a point. This should be about people loving making music showing their stuff to the crowd. Whoever tries to make his living from 8 dollars for an album is (sorry for the word) dumb. He's from another planet. Everyone's sharing files these days, the big names are getting money from their tours and other merchandises, media appearances etc. File sharing changed (intentionally avoided the word "killed") the music industry. The door is wider open and more artists can enter. However the crowd will find out who's notable and who's not. We don't have to pay for each crap we download just to find out whether we like it or not. We decide it after downloading it or getting it from a friend or stuff. Whoever requests us to remove the link, I respect them for their effort. However I have a message for them: send me a mail once you bought your first BMW out of the 8 dollars. No disrespect, peace&love to all the true music lovers!
On the other hand: I hope Domu was not a typo of Damu. Who's Domu?
