Since forming in early 2004, The Coalition Crew (MC Yuin Huzami, bassist/producer Toxic Al and turntablist Nikk C) quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in Brisbane hip hop. Their 2005 critically acclaimed self-titled CD released on United Notions Records with distribution from Obese, as well as live performances at the 2006 Big Day Out and supports for Aussie hip hop legends such as Hilltop Hoods, The Herd, TZU, Pegz and Muph & Plutonic and international acts such as People Under The Stairs, Swollen Members, Sage Francis and Mystro, concreted the bands position as the gatekeepers of the Brisbane hip hop scene.

As a player in the San Diego County hip hop scene for over ten years, DJ Pain has been preaching the gospel of good underground hip hop to the masses and the underground alike, with a passion fueled by love for the people and the music. Pain’s vision of hip hop shines through the corporate smoke and mirrors campaign of promoting only the “commercial” sound and stays true to his commitment to play for the people, while challenging the listener with a pure devotion that is represented through his unique take on the art. Opening for the likes of Jurassic 5 and the Visionaries, Pain has played alongside some of the best talent within the underground. Casual Projects are eight like-minded musicians that have played and collaborated together for four years. Mastered by Chris Gehringer (Talib Kweli, Timberland, Nelly Furtado, Blackalicious and Bootsy Collins) at Sterling Sound Studios, New York. Already having released their debut album independently and selling over 3000 Copies, Casual Projects, have built a large and strong fan base. The band has already broken into the international market, with a distribution deal in Japan for the debut release. Casual Projects success in Australian album sales was due to a constant commitment to touring. They have performed over 150 energetic live shows in just 3 short years, including two independent East Coast tours, 10 Victorian tours, frequent Sydney and regional NSW shows and major festivals (Great Escape, Stonefest, Village fair & more).

For all its eccentricities the production retains a solid song-like focus, maintaining a heavy duty beat in the process. Before materializing as an official group, the Natural Elements were originally conceived as a group of solo artists brought together in 1993 under the tutelage of producer Charlemagne. This initial grouping, whose members were initially signed to Fortress Records, included members Mr. Voodoo, L-Swift, KA, G-Blass, Howie Smalls and the InTimidator. By 1995, however, membership slimmed to include only Mr. Voodoo, L-Swift and the newly-added A-Butta. The trio's countless appearances on the NYC freestyle and mixtape circuits culminated with a record deal on the Tommy Boy Black sublabel and the release of the single "2 Tons" in 1999. Although the highly-anticipated NE album was completed, problems with Tommy Boy shelved the project and the album never saw the light of day... until NOW! It was told there are only about 20, or somethin, press copies out there in the world today.
